There were a total of 8 of these small wooden paintings made for the 2005 Faile Solo show at Andenken Gallery (Nov. 4th - Dec 31, 2005).
This is one of them. It features a classic FAILE image of the masked wrestler and nymph.
This painting was originally sold on the evening of the exhibition opening and re-purchased from the original buyer by Andenken Gallery owner, Hyland Mather in 2007. This piece is now part of the Mather Family personal Collection.
FAILE continues to hold a solid position in the important contemporary street art movement. Solo exhibitions in New York and London and an inclusion in the amazing mural project at the Tate Modern are recent highlights. |
