Lotte Klaver (1981) is a drawing fanatic since she was a child. She studied at the Amsterdam School of Arts and now works as an artist and illustrator in Amsterdam. Her drawings are characterized by quick, simple lines in India ink. An ink blot becomes a face, a bodypart, and then a character comes to life. The weird sides that that these characters tend to have and that give them a certain uneasiness take Klaver by surprise and inspire her to keep drawing. Since 2005 she blogs a drawing a (work) day on her drawing blog at www.lotteklaver.com – a portfolio that has grown to nearly 1000 drawings by now.
